Drink local.

As we drive across the country, one way we’ve been drinking in the culture is through local food and drink. Obviously that cultural deep dive includes trying local beer.

Most have been small producers, so they have somewhat limited distribution, but I’m sure several are larger and can be found back home too.

I’m typically drawn to the can with the best packaging – shocker, I know. A standout so far was Uinta’s Golden Ale tribute to Arches National Park – very timely for our adventure. The beer was really tasty too.

What might be the biggest surprise, was in the small town of Dillion, MT when my beer (Moose Drool) was served in a SEC pint glass – I guess the SEC really does mean more. What has also been a surprise, is as we’ve entered the Pacific Northwest, I’ve discovered a taste for IPA’s, probably a bigger shock to friends and family back home.

As we get down the road I’ll update this post with more small-brewed goodness. Cheers.
